London Architecture Studies

This recent set continues my ongoing interest in reduction and structure within architectural photography.

Rather than photographing whole buildings, I’ve been focusing on fragments, surfaces, reflections and repeated forms. Tight crops and upward perspectives remove much of the surrounding environment and allow the frame to become quieter and more abstract.

What interests me most is the tension between order and weight. Steel grids, glass reflections, exposed systems and repeating panels begin to feel less like buildings and more like constructed patterns.

The colder tonal treatment also became important throughout the series. It helped reduce distraction and pushed the work further toward form, density and atmosphere rather than straightforward documentation.

These are less city photographs and more structural studies taken within the city.
