These photographs explore the Royal Ordnance Depot at Weedon Bec through light, shadow, texture and form. Once a vital military site and now home to a diverse community of businesses and creative enterprises, the Depot remains a place where past and present coexist. This recent set continues my ongoing interest in reduction and structure within architectural photography. Rather than photographing whole buildings, I’ve been focusing on fragments, surfaces, reflections and repeated forms. Tight crops and upward perspectives remove much of the surrounding environment and allow the frame to become quieter and more abstract. What interests me most is the tension between order and weight.
