Tim Muddiman is an English artist based in Northampton. His painting practice centres on geometric abstraction and architectural form, exploring structure, space and atmosphere through a restrained, modernist lens.
Working in oil across canvas, linen and wood, his paintings reduce buildings, interiors and figures to essential shapes and tonal relationships. Influenced by industrial landscapes, modernist design and cinematic light, the work balances precision with ambiguity, creating images that feel still, timeless and quietly charged.
In 2026, Tim’s practice moves decisively towards abstract architectural composition, with form and geometry becoming central to his work. Alongside his studio practice, he maintains a busy commission schedule, producing bespoke paintings of houses and portraits that apply the same sensitivity to structure and atmosphere within more personal contexts. New studio works are released online in regular, considered groups.
His work has been collected internationally and shown through exhibitions, online platforms and appearances at Saatchi Art’s The Other Art Fair.
Alongside his visual practice, Tim has toured internationally as a musician for two decades, including long-term work with Gary Numan, and is a regular writer for Blitzed Magazine, where he explores the relationship between music, art and visual culture. These experiences continue to inform his approach to rhythm, atmosphere and structure in painting.
Across his work, Tim Muddiman is concerned with clarity, restraint and endurance, creating paintings that resist trend and reward prolonged looking.
