Tim Muddiman is an English artist based in Northampton whose practice explores architecture, geometry and the quiet character of place through painting and photography.

Working primarily in oil on linen, canvas and wood, his paintings distil buildings, interiors and landscapes into restrained compositions of form, light and tone. Influenced by modernist architecture, industrial design and cinematic imagery, his work balances precision with atmosphere, creating images that feel timeless, contemplative and quietly enigmatic.

Alongside his studio practice, Tim undertakes selected commissions, producing bespoke paintings of houses and portraits with the same sensitivity to composition and structure. His work has been collected internationally and exhibited through galleries and leading online platforms.

His practice is expanding beyond painting into long-term architectural documentation and heritage research, exploring the histories and stories embedded within the built environment. Current projects combine photography, painting and historical research to examine the relationship between architecture, memory and cultural identity.

Alongside his visual practice, Tim toured internationally as a musician for over two decades, including a long association with Gary Numan, and is a regular contributor to Blitzed Magazine, writing about music, art and visual culture. His essays and features have also appeared in The Independent and Drowned in Sound. These experiences continue to shape his understanding of rhythm, composition and atmosphere across his creative work.
